The analysis of socio-cultural trends in Italy and worldwide will be driven by Future Concept Lab. The process of interaction with FCL will be completed with a project developed by the students during the first preparatory project seminar and the following ones as well.
The course is aimed at supporting the students in acquiring an anthropological methodology, stimulating their creativity through the knowledge of the symbols that belong to our individual history.
The course offers a psychological reading of fashion codes by investigating - through a series of classes and debates - the connections and implications with the world of semiotic.
The objective of the course is to "experience the material". Beyond the study of the categories of products in textiles, students will deal with the creation and development of a more personal materic sensitivity. During some days dedicated to workshops, the students will be able to directly experiment with the material.
The course uses a methodology that characterises contemporaneity and involves the dimension of contamination: images, events, concerts, performances, fashion shows, texts, movies, videos, etc. that are not closed and isolated in separate "spaces" any longer. It is a mentality that starts to spread out of the specialised channels of art, it creates places, directions, interlacements. The meetings with the students represent and highlight the atmosphere of contaminations and "interferences" existing between the several creative practices: from contemporary art, to fashion, from cinema to literature. Miroglio Vestebene Berlino, ecc.
The cycle of lectures will work on two big fields of the textile/wear sector: casual sportswear and high quality goods. The professors, thanks to their constantly updated experience in the two fields, will explore together with the students the marketing and management practices, in a concrete and creative way. The lectures will be integrated with a short workshop, in which the students will have to confront with the "provocations" emerged in class.
The accessory represents an increasingly important dimension in the fashion world, both in terms of image and turnover. The lectures will introduce elements related to the construction, the materials, the design culture of a creative dimension, between the world of fashion and the world of design.
The construction of a collection, the main trade fairs throughout Europe and the methodological approach in creating the frame of "corporate" project; those are the elements, that even though similar, are always faced differently from country to country. The course will introduce the students to the Italian approach.
From the geometry of the pure shapes, to the three-dimensionality of the garment, the course explores a further design approach, allowing the students to experiment a personal methodology through a direct experience.
Tailoring, that characterises the "know how" of the Made in Italy, is a value that we are tending to lose generation after generation. The course proposes to the students a pathway during which they will be able to face the competencies and the constructive approach as the key of the project.
These meetings are aimed at offering the students a vision on the technologies that might be used during the year: use of PC, Power Point, Photoshop.
Professionals of the press and the communication field will propose to the students an interpreting key of the fashion shows, the events of costume related to fashion providing them with practical information and case histories on how to build a communication project in this field. The two faces of communication, from Pr to press, are offered, in order to give the opportunity to know the world of communication that is becoming increasingly important in the creative dimension.
